The foundation stone for DEPO’s second store in Estonia was laid in Lasnamäe on 12 October. Infortar is investing €27 million in the construction of the 30,000 square metre DIY, home improvement and leisure retail centre. The store is scheduled to open in spring next year.
“In recent years, we have increasingly invested in large-scale logistics and retail properties, where both a prime location and long-term cooperation with a strong partner are essential. Last year, we handed over a 25,000 square metre logistics centre in Laagri to Rimi, and we are now developing a new retail centre for DEPO, together with office space, as the second phase of the Mustakivi property development. Projects like these have helped Infortar become one of the largest property owners in the Baltic States,” said Ain Hanschmidt, CEO of Infortar.
According to DEPO’s Marketing Director, Rimants Jugans, the company sees further opportunities for growth in Tallinn. “Our first store in Estonia has proven successful as a place where people can find ideas, inspiration and practical solutions to bring their plans to life. Customers have come to appreciate our concept, with a wide range of products available immediately, including in larger quantities, combined with a consistent and stable low-price policy. “The new store in Lasnamäe will be the 18th in the DEPO chain. We are confident that our second store in Tallinn will also become a favourite destination for DIY enthusiasts looking to improve their homes, gardens and outdoor spaces. DEPO’s extensive product range caters for everyday needs, including household goods, groceries and pet supplies, as well as renovation and construction projects of all sizes,” said Jugans.
The new DEPO store, located next to Tallink Tennis Centre, will have more than 600 parking spaces. As part of the development, several nearby junctions and access roads will be reconstructed, and a new street will be built to improve traffic flow and road safety in the area.
