On 17 June, INF Infra employees and partners gathered on the Sindi-Lodja bridge to mark an important milestone in the construction of the new bridge. Unlike in building construction, where the ceremonial lowering of the topping-out wreath marks the completion of a building’s final height, in bridge construction the key milestone is the completion of the deck slab — in other words, the joining of the two riverbanks.
Standing beside an oak-leaf wreath in the middle of the River Reiu, speeches were given by the Mayor of Pärnu, Kristel Voltenberg; the Director General of the Transport Administration, Priit Sauk; the CEO of Infortar, Ain Hanschmidt; and the Chairman of the Management Board of INF Infra, Robert Sinikas.
The alliance procurement model, a new-generation procurement method being used in Estonia for the first time, differs from previous approaches through earlier involvement, joint decision-making, and the sharing of risks and benefits between the client and the contractor.
Construction work on the project is scheduled to be completed in 2027.
